Tell Me MoreEveryone in the Autograph team is delighted to learn that this year’s Olivier Awards include a Best Sound Design nomination for our own sound design maestro, Nick Lidster.
This nomination recognises Nick’s contribution to the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre production of Fiddler On The Roof, which returns later this year to the Barbican Theatre, before embarking on a tour of the UK and Ireland.
In fact, Fiddler On The Roof is the leading contender in this year’s Olivier Awards, with a total of 13 nominations.
Among the categories are Best Musical Revival, the Sir Peter Hall Award for Best Director (Jordan Fein), Best Actor in a Musical (Adam Dannheisser), Best Actress in a Musical (Lara Pulver – and, of course, the Award for Best Sound Design, sponsored by d&b audiotechnik.
Nick won the Olivier Award in 2022 for Cabaret at the Kit-Kat Club, and we all have our fingers crossed for a second prestigious statuette. However, he once again finds himself in the very finest sound design company . . .
This year’s other nominees are Christopher Shutt for Oedipus at The Old Vic, Thijs van Vuure for The Years at Almeida Theatre & Harold Pinter Theatre, and Koichi Yamamoto for Spirited Away at London Coliseum.
Our congratulations go to all these nominees, and to those in every other production recognised at this year’s Awards, both on stage and off.
The winners of the Olivier Awards 2025 will be revealed at the ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday 6 April.
